Boycott of 0190 dialer bills called for
The problem of the 0190 dialer, which has not yet been clarified, has begun to move. The consumer protection center in Hamburg asked everyone who was harmed by excessive, incomprehensibly high telephone bills to jointly refuse these payments.
This large-scale boycott is intended to reawaken the attention of the responsible authorities. Because more and more cases of excessively high telephone bills have recently become known. The network operators, the Federal Ministry of Economics and the regulatory authority do not pay much attention to this problem. The draft law submitted by Consumer Protection Minister Künast, which provides for a change to telecommunications law, has not yet been implemented. The consumer protection agency also recommends not to pay unknown, excessive amounts and to ask the telephone company to reveal the name of the provider. However, there is one problem with the refusal to pay. The telephone operator is free to block the telephone connection if the telephone bill is not paid. We can only hope that the call will bear fruit and that the responsible authorities will force the solution to the problem.
