Blocking the takeover of Time Warner by AOL?
According to a report in the Washington Post, the US authorities are preparing to block the merger of AOL and Time Warner. The demand by the competition watchdog of the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that other providers should also be given the opportunity to access the new company's Internet and cable network is causing problems.
Until October 27th the Federal Trade Commisson (FTC) now decide on the takeover of Time Warner by AOL. The EU Commission had approved the merger on condition that AOL sever its ties to Bertelsmann.
