ATI's Radeons Roadmap

A roadmap from ATI has surfaced on the Internet showing that the new ATI Radeons will appear in 2001. In February ATI will therefore present the RV200, which will then only be available in summer.

So only after the release of the NV20. Here is a list of the data:

RV100 (Radeon VE):

  • clock rate 183 MHz
  • no T&L support
  • 1 rendering pipeline
  • supports SDRAM
  • production in 0.18 µm technology
  • available from February 2001

R200:

  • Clock rate 300 MHz
  • 4 rendering pipelines
  • Transform & Lighting
  • Production using 0.15 µm technology
  • Dual display support
  • available from June 2001

RV200 (Value):

  • light version of the R200
  • only 2 rendering pipelines
  • also no T&L
  • Production using the 0.15 µm technique
  • available from June 2001

R300:

  • 3 times faster than R200
  • Clock rate 350 MHz
  • Transform & Lighting
  • Dual display support
  • Manufactured in 0.13 µm -Technology
  • available from November 2001

Whether ATI is against the strong competition from Nvidia will arrive, will show up next year.
