ATI has to accept slight losses
With sales of $ 266 million, ATI managed to recover somewhat in the second quarter of the current fiscal year. Thanks to the great demand for the graphics chips, ATI was able to post 16 million dollars more in sales than in the previous quarter.
ATI attributes the now friendlier figures to increasing demand on the PC market. The license income from the Nintendo Gamecube also contributed to this, according to ATI. According to ATI Technologies President David Orton, ATI’s position in the market is also strengthened by the recently introduced Radeon IGP family of chips. He is expecting a slight increase in sales in the third and fourth quarters, continues David Orton.
