ATi and Asus future strategic partners?
Rumors say that Asus will be ATi's strategic partner in the future when it comes to the production of graphics cards based on ATi chips. The outsourcing of production on a larger scale, announced a few weeks ago on a larger scale than in June 2001, could begin.
Because so far ATi has only been able to win over relatively small and inexperienced graphics card manufacturers. The only exception so far has been gigabytes. The manufacturers seem to be afraid that they will attract attention in the event of a cooperation with ATi nVidia. Here the rumors even went so far that nVidia deliberately delayed deliveries. In the long run, however, things will probably run similarly to the initially delayed mainboard production for the Athlon introduction - in the end everyone will jump on the bandwagon. And so ATi could achieve its goal of only producing 10% of its graphics cards with ATi chips by the end of the year.
