Athlon XP 2200+ with Palomino core

Contrary to the original plan, AMD will still present an Athlon based on the Palomino core. This will be called the Athlon XP 2200+ and will clock at 1.8GHz, which should finally be the end of the Palomino flagpole.

Like the lower clocked variants of AMD's current processor generation, this one will also be 1.75 volts VCore voltage operated. The fact that the production of the XP 2200+ could not be particularly high is indicated by the fact that it was not possible to get at least 1.87GHz out of the processor.

That AMD now has another Palomino einscheibt also confirms the rumor that the 0.13µm Thoroughbred will be a long time coming and will in all likelihood be sold not until June .
