Asus V8440 TD and V8460 ultra TD in the test: Two 'Ti' tans among themselves

Aquanox

In this test, too, we wanted to know how the retail version of Aquanox, which is increasingly included as a bundle with current graphics cards, can be played on these. As was to be expected, the average fps are significantly higher than the heavily pixel and vertex shader-heavy onesAquamark.

The Magellan cutscene was tested according to the benchmark settings of the 3D Center, ie with full details that demand the utmost from every graphics card.

Fill rate and memory bandwidth seem to be in demand here, GeForce4 offers both Ti cards in huge numbers and so it is no wonder that the rest of the field is left behind by the relatively low-clocked Ti4200 cards. In high resolutions, it first becomes clear that the V8440 and V8460 ultra are not only pure luxury, but can also make the difference between jerkiness and good playability in modern games.

Dronez Mark

The Dronezmark is included in the demo as well as in the full version of Dronez and is an OpenGL game that comes with some GeForce3/4 cards as a bundle. In the demo, very remarkable effects are shown, but the use of OpenGL extensions means that it is nVidia-optimized, which has no major influence in our test field.

This is where the division is made of the market segments once again more than clearly noticeable. The high-end products from Asus buy the edge from both the simulated Ti4200 and the GeForce3 models in every respect. More than 40% lead in the highestThe resolution speaks for itself, even the almost 50% on the Ti4200 in the 128MB version are not to be despised in this benchmark, which particularly demands the memory bandwidth.
