Asus sells most motherboards

The mainboard sales figures for the first half of 2002 have been published and Asus is once again at the top of the list. However, Asustek is once again hard pressed by ECS Elitegroup, which secured second place.

Here are the values in detail: Asustek has sold 7.73 million mainboards, ECS is just beaten with 7, 6 million pieces in second place. Third and fourth place are occupied by Micro-Star and Gigabyte, Micro-Star was able to sell between 5 and 5.5 million units, Gigabyte only managed 2.23 million units. Together these four companies have sold around 23 million motherboards, which corresponds to a market share of 56 percent. While Asus wants to continue to concentrate on the OEM business in the USA, ECS is hoping for new growth markets such as China.
