Asus P4T533 in the test: Next-Generation Rambus

3DMark 2000

Even if it is quite old, the 3D Mark 2000 from MadOnion.com continues to represent a very meaningful benchmark for mainboards. Since the tests used are not already in the default run the real hurdle for the GeForce3 Ti200 is that the CPU, RAM and chipset can really let off steam. The Rambus mainboards were only able to get a marginal lead out here in the past.

Switching to Direct3D does not change the result either. The P4T533 with RIMM4200 is practically as fast as its 16-bit rival, the P4T533-C. The slight advantage can be explained by the use of 512MB PC4200 as opposed to 256MB PC1066 and in the default run by normal differences.

CPU Mark

A popular component of 3DMark 2000 is the CPU mark. In this discipline, the processor has to calculate two game scenes without much help from the graphics card. Only the T&L unit and the performance of the mainboard and memory are significant. Since the GeForce3 Ti200 was used on all boards except for the D845GBV, the important T&L support does not play a major role.

      642
    • i845G - D845GBV (PC266)

With the CPU Mark, the amount of RAM used does not matter, so that the P4T533 and P4T533-C share the top position again.
