Asus P4T533 in the test: Next-Generation Rambus

Once again SiSoft Sandra was allowed to take the first step and clarify the theoretical streaming performance of the individual candidates. The result does not always have to reflect the subsequent sequence in the benchmarks. Due to the different techniques used by the test subjects, there are always large differences.

In the memory tests by SiSoft Sandra, the P4T533, in conjunction with 4200RIMM, can easily put itself in front of its Rambus colleagues of the old generation. At just one percent, however, the lead is not particularly great. But nothing else was to be expected. 4200RIMM with 32-bit is not faster in its streaming properties than its 16-bit PC1066 representative, it only offers the advantages of DDR-RAM paired with the performance of Rambus. The new technology should not have any influence on the speed, which Sandra confirms very nicely.

WinACE 2.11

As a further test for the memory interface, we use WinACE version 2.11. The systems had to use a mix of already packed and unpacked at maximum compressionPack files, music tracks, documents and pictures with a total of 390 MB.

Also in our next Sp eichertest confirms the image obtained in SiSoft Sandra. The P4T533 is slightly ahead of the P4T533-C at the top of the field. However, one must not forget that it is equipped with 512MB and the advantage is probably due to it.

Magix Music Maker

In Magix Music Maker 3.03, our test candidates had one 251MB large wave file to be encoded in an MP3 with 128kBit and high quality settings.

The Magix Music Maker also confirms the previously obtained results. The new 32-bit Rambus technology does not bring any speed advantage. With the same RAM configuration, the P4T533 could even fall slightly behind the P4T533-C.
