Asus CRW-3212A and Yamaha CRW3200E-VK in the test: Nero's favorites in the battle for the hot iron

Conclusion

Contrary to our expectations, the problem was or is with the current 32-fold Burners don't mean that you can't find any blanks that are suitable for it, because, for example, the 24x blanks from TDK could be burned at full speed without any problems. The disadvantage is that the full 32-fold speed is only used from the middle of a 70-minute CD due to the technology, which means that there is no significant time advantage to be expected compared to the Yamaha 24-fold burner. During the actual burning process, neither of the two burners has any problems and the technologies used make buffer underruns a thing of the past. It goes without saying that both drives are Clone CD compatible. The Yamaha burner with the CD-MRW and the Audio Master Quality Recording function is really outstanding in terms of supported writing modes and technology, while the Asus model has nothing to offer here. In addition to burning, both devices can also be used like a normal CD-ROMDrive can be used, whereby this task is done very well by both. The Asus 3212A model is slightly ahead in terms of reading speed and the Yamaha product in terms of access and recognition times, so there is a draw on this side. When it comes to the scope of delivery or the manual, Yamaha can clearly beat Asus, as the documentation and the manual at Yamaha were very detailed and at Asus, where only the 700 MB CD-RW blank was particularly noticeable, they limited themselves to the essentials. In summary, one can say that Yamaha has the lead in comparison, but both burners and CD-ROM drives are recommendable, which of course also has its price. At this point we would like to thank Asus and Yamaha once again for testing the products.

As always, the forum is responsible for questions.
