In the access time test of audio CDs, the model 3200E from Yamaha stands out, which shines here in the 1/3 seek and random area with great access times, which is comparable to top models from the CD-ROM area can measure. The Asus 3212A burner is in the good midfield in this test and can easily compete with the Asus 50x CD-ROM drive from its own family, which does quite poorly in the full range. The HP model shows here that it was not designed for reading audio CDs.
The Yamaha 3200E burner can also handle data CDs with very goodAccess times shine. The Asus burner does not show any major changes compared to audio CDs, but it is surprising that the HP 9100 burner can move forward significantly when reading data CDs, while the Asus 50x drive virtually fails here for inexplicable reasons.
In this test, the 50x CD-ROM drive from Asus has a clear lead, especially with audio CDs, what one can actually expect. The comparison model from Hewlett Packard can basically rank very well here, although with the Asus 3212A burner you have to wait quite a long time until a CD is read. There were no major differences between the tested products in terms of loading or ejection times, which is why this test is not worth mentioning. The processor load is also within reasonable limits in all tested models.
