Around 10 million DSL connections by 2005
DSL is clearly on the rise. This is now additionally proven by a study by the management consultancy UGW Management-Consulting. By the end of 2005, around 22 percent of private households and around 40 percent of small and medium-sized companies should have a DSL connection.
By the end of the current year, there will be more than 3.8 million Households use a DSL connection, which corresponds to around 10 percent of all households. By the end of 2005 there should then be around 8.7 million households that will access the Internet via a DSL connection. This is likely to be reinforced by the fact that DSL works with the conventional copper cable used by almost every analog or digital telephone connection. Difficult and lengthy renovation work is no longer necessary.
