AOL is testing 'Secure IM' for business customers

The world's largest online service, AOL, plans to start testing a new 'Secure Instant Messaging' service by the end of this month. This is nothing more than a more secure version of the previous AIM service.

This should go through its alleged security against eavesdropping draws particular attention to companies. Obviously, the new service is to be named 'Enterprise AIM'. The data traffic should be processed via the existing AIM server, which should also be awarded a certificate from VeriSign so that the user of the client software can be sure that his messages are only forwarded via appropriately secured servers. However, it is questionable whether the large sales market for the product exists. This is by no means to doubt that there are more or less customers, but some will probably still prefer to have the power to decide when there is time in the planner for the business partner, i.e. use e-mail as a means of communication/p>
