AOL has to pay 200,000 DM!

The reason for this penalty is a non-compliance with a preliminary injunction, which forbade AOL to advertise with the claim 'premium online service'.

AOL is allowed to pay 200,000 marks for improper advertising, this announced yesterday the Cologne Higher Regional Court in a final decision. The reason for this penalty is a non-compliance with the injunction, which forbade AOL from advertising with the claim 'premium online service' for itself. Only recently was the Cologne Higher Regional Court imposed a fine of 300,000 marks on AOL, because AOL advertised 'Internet at a fixed price', but there were still further costs for the consumer.
