AOL closes security holes in Messenger

AOL has managed to plug the security hole recently discovered in its messenger on the server side. According to AOL, an update or patch for the client is not necessary and no changes to the messenger are required by the user.

According to AOL spokesman Andrew Weinstein, the security problem only affected Windows users anyway, using the AOL access software never posed any risk. Users should not have been harmed by the security problem so far. Hackers were able to control someone else's PC if it was running AOL Instant Messenger.
