Another system failure at Strato
After the major system failure in March of this year, when over 7,000 DE domains were unavailable for a few days, Strato has now broken down again. Yesterday, 120,000 web presences hosted by Strato were offline for about an hour.
This time, the fault was a failed data mover in the EMC storage system. This system houses the domains and was also responsible for the failure in March. The Strato partner KPNQwest, who is responsible for the smooth interaction of the technology at Strato, has already apologized to the affected customers. In addition, they want to set up a second EMC storage system in Munich in the future, which can step in immediately if necessary.
After the negative reports of the last few months, Strato would have needed to make positive headlines again come.
