AMD with dismal quarterly results
The end user is happy, the top models among the processors have never been available for so little money, never have the LowCost CPU been so inexpensive. But behind the scenes, a power struggle over market segments and sales figures that should not be underestimated is raging.
AMD seems to have to take a sensitive damper in the duel with Intel and was now forced to do a second after the first profit warning in August Issue 3rd quarter. According to the latest information, a loss of $ 90-110 million is expected for the third quarter, excluding special investments of $ 100 million. That would correspond to a loss per share of 26-31 cents. Analysts had 'only' expected a loss of 12 cents.
