AMD strikes back

AMD will drastically reduce prices for processors starting next Monday. Accordingly, the following prices apply to dealers and resellers when purchasing 1000 pieces:

Athlon:

  • 1.3 GHz: 375 Marks (575 Marks , -35%)
  • 1.2 GHz: 340 marks (480 marks, -30%)
  • 1.1 GHz: 305 marks (435 marks, -30%)
  • 950 MHz: 270 marks (310 marks, -13%)
  • 900 MHz: 215 marks (270 marks, -20%)

Duron:

  • Duron 900: 170 Mark (215 Mark, -20%)
  • Duron 850: 140 Mark (170 Mark, -18 %)
  • Duron 800: 115 marks (140 marks, -18%)
  • Duron 750: 85 marks (120 marks, -30%)

After that, AMD revised its prices down by almost half within a month. In view of the fact that Intel has also massively reduced prices, it remains to be seen what surprises the rest of the year will have in store. The new processors announced by both manufacturers for the second and third quarters are likely to cause the prices for the current CPUs to slide down a little. The laughing third party is once again the end consumer.
