AMD misses sales target
Like Intel, AMD also clearly falls short of sales expectations and in the Christmas quarter can only hold the sales from the third quarter. Initially, sales of 8 to 9 million chips were expected.
But AMD has now announced that at best it will slightly exceed the volume from the previous quarter with 6.8 million chips, and the same applies to the Quarterly sales. Certainly one cannot speak of a slump here, Weißgott, but it is gradually becoming clear that the market is largely saturated, especially since AMD is not the only company in the chip sector that has issued profit and sales warnings.
