AMD lives up to expectations
The largest manufacturer of desktop processors alongside Intel, AMD, announced that the company is sticking to its previous forecasts for the current quarter. AMD continues to expect sales of $ 900 million.
Together with this slightly lower sales compared to the fourth quarter of 2001, the net loss should be lower than in the previous quarter. It is assumed that sales for AMD processors will be in the usual seasonal range. AMD is still planning to return to profitability in the second quarter and is assuming that 2002 will be closed again with a plus. We can only hope that the cost-cutting measures introduced by AMD really take effect and that no unforeseeable loss of sales occurs.
