AMD invests a further 900 million DM in Dresden
The processor manufacturer AMD wants to invest a further 900 million marks in its factory in Dresden, where 1,600 employees work at the moment, by 2003. The money will primarily be put into expanding production capacity and developing new technologies.
The factory is currently only running at 60 percent capacity, but by the end of this year the aim is to achieve maximum production capacity. Therefore, AMD is forced to build yet another factory, where Dresden will be given good cards again when choosing a location.
