AMD introduces the XP2200 + with a thoroughbred core

At the beginning of the year it was said 'at CEBIT 2002, there it will appear'. And when CeBIT was over, May was assumed to be the release date. Now, almost three months later, AMD has officially presented the new core of the Athlon processors, the Thoroughbred.

Thus, at least the last expected date was kept. The 2200+ will be the first Athlon XP with a Thoroughbred core to hit the market. The CPU is now available in 0.13 technology and enables higher clock rates with less heat generation thanks to the lower power consumption. With a purchase of 1000 units, the CPU initially costs US $ 241.
