AMD has to revise sales forecast
As the processor manufacturer AMD announced, the sales forecast for the second quarter will not be set. Rather, one must correct the forecast numbers down by a quarter, reported AMD yesterday in Sunnyvale.
Instead of the initially forecast 820 to 900 million US dollars in sales, according to the latest forecasts it will only be around 620 to 700 Million dollars. In the first quarter of this year, AMD had to announce a loss of just under 10 million US dollars. As AMD reported further, this was due to the currently prevailing lull in the PC market. AMD plans to present the final result on July 17th. The Wall Street Journal does not forecast a bright future for the processor market either. A slump of 32 percent to around 460 million US dollars is expected.
