AMD corrects sales forecast downwards again

Processor manufacturer AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) has to revise its sales forecast downwards again. Now for the fourth time in a row. In addition, AMD announced a 'substantial' loss.

For the second quarter, sales will be only 600 million US dollars instead of 620 to 700 million US dollars. According to the Financial Times, FirstCall determined an average revenue of $ 656.6 million for AMD in the second quarter. The slump in sales is due to weak sales of PCs in Europe and the USA, which also affects AMD and which is continuing. While one is overall satisfied with the sales of flash memory, the business with processors is anything but satisfactory, announced AMD's CFO Robert Rivet. The official quarterly figures are expected for July 17th.
