AMD at a loss with processors
Although AMD sold more processors in the first quarter of 2002 than ever before, AMD suffered a loss of $ 9 million. Compared to the same period last year, however, the loss decreased by almost a quarter, exactly 24 percent.
This loss also caused AMD's stock to lose $ 0.03 in value. Total revenue for the company at the end of the first quarter of 2002 was $ 902 million. With over 8 million processors sold, AMD set a new record in processor sales.
