AMD and Infineon build joint plant

As you can read in a report in a newspaper from Dresden, the two chip manufacturers AMD and Infineon want to build a new factory together in Dresden-Rähnitz. According to the newspaper, the project has been planned for a few months.

The 200 million euro plant is to be financed by the three companies AMD, Infineon and the French DuPont. Exposure foils are manufactured for the production of chips with small structure sizes. The processor and memory manufacturers want to found a new company called 'Advanced Maskhouse'. The new plant, which will be built between the two existing ones from AMD and Infineon, is to create several hundred new jobs. The start of construction is planned for this year.
