AMD again loses market share to Intel

AMD's global market share in processors fell to its lowest level in four years in the past third quarter. According to Mercury Research, the share was 11.6 percent. In comparison, the share was 15.6 percent in the previous quarter and 20 percent in the same period of the previous year.

Accordingly, Intel's market share grew to 86.8 percent - a year ago it was 79.2 Percent and in the penultimate quarter at 82.8 percent. In order to regain market share, AMD has now started a new advertising campaign in the USA, in which the 'AMD Reality Check' is intended to show customers that computer performance does not depend solely on the clock rate.
