Abit Hot Rod 100 Pro announced

The difference to the normal Hot Rod 100 is quickly mentioned, because the new one supports IDE/RAID. This makes it possible to shoot two individual hard disks, if possible the same, into a logical one, which is then written and read in parallel (Raid0).

Abit continues the Hot Rod hard drive controller series with the Hot Rod 100 Pro. The difference to the normal Hot Rod 100 is quickly mentioned, because the new one supports IDE/RAID. This makes it possible to shoot two individual hard disks, if possible the same, into a logical one, which is then written and read in parallel (Raid0). This of course results in a data transfer rate that is twice as high as a hard drive would achieve and that means more power;). In addition to Raid0, Raid1 (mirroring) and the combination of both Raid 1 + 0 are supported. The controller supports UDMA 100 and is also downwards compatible with UDMA/66 and 33. With the corresponding UDMA 100 hard disks, a maximum data stream of 100MB per second can be achieved in a raid 0 network.
