A third for breaking up Microsoft
The magazine PC - Welt started a survey among users about Microsoft. The result shows that every third user is in favor of breaking up the US software company. Only 20 percent are of the opinion that Microsoft should be acquitted.
Furthermore, the survey showed that 50 percent of those questioned are in favor of a release of the Windows source code, which would promote the external processing of the operating system. However, Bill Gates is currently warning against the break-up of Microsoft, for which he is taking the I LOVE YOU virus, which is currently circulating, as an opportunity. In a letter to the US news magazine 'Time', Gates wrote that updates for Windows and Office programs that would protect users from the Love bug would be much harder to come by if they were broken up.
