A campaign turns 10:

Exactly 10 years ago, Intel started a large-scale advertising campaign, the focus of which is still today on the slogan 'Intel Inside'. At the time, PCs were still in short supply, and hardly anyone knew the ambitious company. Today everyone is talking about Intel and ranks on the same level as Walt Disney and Coca Cola in relevant hit lists. The main component of the 'Intel Inside Campaign' was and is Intel's participation in the advertising costs of the resellers (Vobis, Pro Markt, etc.).

The processor giant from the USA either pays for conspicuously placed Intel logos in brochures with generously dimensioned checks or (more recently) through the delivery of free DDR-RAM Modul.e In addition to an undisputed benefit (market share currently 75%), the campaign not only resulted in billions in expenditure, but also a large number of investigations by the Federal Cartel Authorities or the EU . But the application of the Pentium 4 (in cooperation with the Blue Men Group) shows that Intel will probably not save any costs or effort in the future in order to expand its top position again.
