512 MBit memory chips from Hyundai
Hyundai is now able to manufacture 1GByte DDR RAM modules. This is made possible by using 512 MBit memory chips (16x512 MBit divided by 8Bit).
The clock frequency is then normally 166 MHz, but the DDR effect now results in a working speed of 333 MHz. Previous memory chips only had a size of 256 Mbit. But the demand for these memory chips is very high, so the new chips are very difficult to get, but Hyundai estimates that it will be able to start mass production this quarter.
