3Dlabs starts a new series of graphics cards

With the 'Visual Processing' series, 3Dlabs is bringing a new series of graphics cards onto the market for the professional field of 'CAD and 3D applications'. 3Dlabs is already represented in this sector with their top graphics cards Wildcat III 6110/6210.

The three graphics cards with named Wildcat VP760, VP870 and VP970 are equipped with 64Mbyte memory for the VP760 and 128MB for the other two cards. Due to the area of application for which they are designed, two-screen operation is of course a matter of course. All three graphics cards can control a digital monitor and an analog monitor from home. Using a special adapter, it is also possible to operate two analog monitors. Drivers are currently available for Windows 2000/XP, Windows 98 drivers are still being worked on. The prices for the new series are 730 euros for the Wildcat VP760, and the VP870 is said to cost 980 euros. What will happen to the VP970 is still unclear, as it is close to the top model Wildcat III 6110 in terms of price at 1500 euros. It is quite possible that the Wildcat VP970 does not appear at all.
