3dfx with a new VSA-101 graphics chip
It seems that 3dfx is currently revising its VSA-100 graphics chips and will start production of the VSA-101 in 0.18 µm technology this month. The VSA-101 should not offer any fundamental changes compared to the VSA-100.
The new manufacturing technology, however, enables higher clock rates. It remains to be seen whether and by how much the performance of the chip will change. The first cards that are equipped with the VSA-101 are not expected before January.
