308,000 Freenet pages deleted

A hacker was able to sneak into Freenet's server. In the attack, a large number of homepages, which can be obtained for free, were deleted. However, the damage could be limited through preventive measures by Freenet.

On Wednesday, a hacker is said to have been on the Freenet server in Düsseldorf. He had access to a great many private homepages. 308,000 pages that were accessible under the domain http://peoples.freenet.de were deleted by the unknown culprit. How he got access to the computer is not yet known. But you want to take care of it as soon as possible. According to Freenet, the owners of the affected sites don't have to worry: All homepages have been backed up.
