1.4 GHz Athlon is slowly getting closer
As AMD spokeswoman Carol Mui announced today in Hong Kong, AMD will present the 1.4 GHz Athlon to the world press at the beginning of June. AMD did not want to give an exact date, but it can be assumed that the processor manufacturer will use the large forum at Computex (Taipei), which begins on June 4th.
Even if it will be the fastest offspring for the time being the Athlon family will still be based on the 'old' Thunderbird core, the restlessly waiting 'Palomino' fans shouldn't miss out either. Notebook manufacturers are planning to present new models with Mobile Athlon 4 processors and AMD will probably show the first samples of the AMD 760MP chipset, which supports dual-switched workstation versions of the Palomino.
