1 GHz Mobile Duron with PowerNow!
After a month or so, AMD has now taken the next step in frequency with the Mobile Duron and increased the clock to 1 GHz. The new version also has the PowerNow! Power saving technology and the 3DNow! Instruction set extension.
With PowerNow! the clock frequency of the processor can be regulated downwards in 32 steps and can therefore always be adapted to the current requirements of the applications without using too much energy. The first manufacturer is Compaq, which will install the new processor in its Presario 700 series and sell it from December 22nd. The price for the CPU is exactly as high as the price for the 950 MHz version when it was introduced: 160, - US dollars for a purchase of 1,000 units.
