0190 dialer disguises itself as T-Online Mail
We only recently reported about the 'Yarner' virus, which installs software to dial the expensive 0190 numbers. Now there is another Internet fraudster who wants to put an 0190 dialer into circulation. This time disguised as a software update from T-Online, reports Dialerschutz.de.
The mails with the sender email@example.com and the subject 'Driver UPDATE with security patch - -> click on Attachments (select the appropriate operating system) ', contain the files' Isdn.tre.exe '/' Isdn-tr1.exe 'as attachments and are each 36 KByte in size. However, if you follow the instructions, you will experience a blue miracle, as it installs software that addresses the ISDN card directly, without detours via the dial-up network. Of course, this software immediately dials an expensive 0190 8 phone number. T-Online now confirms that the sender is fake.
